Sponsoring and charitable campaigns play a major role in the communication strategy of Kredyt Bank Group and Warta Group. Both companies approved and have developed a common policy in this area.
Social measures are implemented in the areas recognised by the society as important, consistent with the values represented by Kredyt Bank and Warta brands and the profiles of the business carried by both companies.
The campaigns are realised independently or jointly within "Razem Możemy Więcej" ("Together We Can Do More") Foundation of Kredyt Bank and Warta. The foundation is a NGO involved in public interest activities in the area of education, culture, charity and other similar purposes. The foundation, established in 1999 by Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń I Reasekuracji WARTA, was transformed in January 2007 into a joint corporate foundation of Warta and Kredyt Bank.
The implementation of safety of children is an important aspect in the social activity of Kredyt Bank and Warta Group. We are active on the field of the safety of children. In 2006, both companies worked together with Stowarzyszenie Misie Ratują Dzieci in a nationwide charity project called "Budujemy razem bezpieczny Dom Misia Ratownika" ("Let’s Build Together the Safe House of Teddy-Bear Rescuer"). The project was aimed at making children aware of the dangers caused by inadequate behaviour in the roads and to promote the Centrum Terapeutycznego "Dom Misia Ratownika" (Therapeutic Centre "House of Teddy-Bear Rescuer"), where children injured in traffic accidents find complete assistance and psychological support. In 2007, in cooperation with Stowarzyszenie Laboratorium Troski (The Care Laboratory Association), the companies implemented a social and educational project for pupils from grades 1-3 of primary school with a view to prevent accidents involving children and to protect children’s health. The campaigned called "Akademia Misia Ratownika" ("The Academy of Teddy-Bear Rescuer") engaged over 6,000 children from Małopolskie province.
The latest project of the companies is the educational program called "Podróże na medal" ("Travels for a medal"), which is addressed to children and their relatives. It is aimed at promoting the correct attitude and behaviour in the field of safety. "Akademia Misia Ratownika" ("The Academy of Teddy-Bear Rescuer") is a project addressed to pupils from grades 1-3 of primary school, while the children involved in "Podróże na medal" are pupils of infantry school. We edit educational books for children called "Kocie podróże małe i duże" ("Cat’s short and long travels") which deal with the topic of safe travelling in a simple and direct way.
For a few years now, KB and Warta have been organising, under the motto "Moje wymarzone Boże Narodzenie" ("My perfect Christmas"), a contest for children from 25 children’s homes from Poland to design a Christmas card, which is supported to a great extent by employees of both companies. The best postcard becomes the official Christmas postcard of Kredyt Bank and Warta Group and the involved children’s homes receive valuable prizes.
Both companies backed the campaign of "Życie Warszawy" called "Listy do Św. Mikołaja" ("Letters to Santa Clause") and made it possible the replacement of all beds in one children’s house in Warsaw. For many years now, Kredyt Bank in cooperation with ZET radio has also been organising the Christmas contest "Wymarzony prezent" ("The Present of your Dreams").
The Bank is also active on programs dealing with treatment and rehabilitation of children (e.g. collaboration with the Stowarzyszenie Rozwoju Kardiochirurgii i Chirurgii Naczyniowej in Wrocław and with the Fundacja rozwoju Kardiochirurgii in Zabrz), with the provision of the necessary equipment to schools and children’s houses as regard computers, books and educational programs. The Bank also supports humanitarian organisations and societies such as Polska Akcja Humanitarna (Polish Humanitarian Association).
In 2007, the companies initiated an employee voluntary program under which employees’ ideas and initiatives in this area are supported financially. It was created to support projects of local institutions and organizations in which the Bank’s employees are engaged.
To support talented students and PhD students as well as the development of scientific research in the field of banking and insurance, we organise a nationwide contest for the best MA and PhD thesis concerning insurance, banking and bancassurance.
Another essential element of the social activity of the Bank is the sponsoring of cultural events. In the latest years we sponsored theatre plays, movie premieres and artistic events (e.g. the play "Giovanni" at the Rozmaitości Theatre, the movie premiere "Kopia Mistrza" by Agnieszka Holland).
In 2007, Kredyt Bank and Warta were involved in sponsoring a concert of Genesis, the legendary rock group. Disabled persons were invited to participate in the event; a special sector and platform were assigned to them. The project was supplemented by the publication of a collection of Genesis’ albums. With the support of the companies, we also organized two concerts of the New Chamber Orchestra conducted by Christopher Hogwood.
In 2006, Kredyt Bank supported a novelty project which consisted in the organisation of music workshops for teachers. This initiative of Kredyt Bank has been noted and awarded with the Art&Business Awards by Commitment to Europe.
The promotion of Belgian culture also plays an important role in the activity of Kredyt Bank. For years now, Kredyt Bank is a member of the Belgian Business Chamber and sponsor of "Belgian Days".
